rockabilly chili
event advertising |  spring 2025

This WSME chili competition campaign I designed was rooted in a vintage Americana, Texas-western aesthetic. Designed to give a friendly, nostalgic atmosphere, the branding leans heavily into cowboy culture, classic western motifs, and tactile design elements like texture and overprint effects.
This project centers on a poster design that features old-western illustrations—horses, cowboys, cooking scenes—layered with photographic chili ingredients to mimic a digital risograph or overprint.

A custom logo was developed for the campaign, combining a smooth, bold cursive typeface with a gritty, all-caps western style. The ‘Y’ in the logotype loops into the ‘L’ like a lasso as well, tying it back to the original cowboy theme.

The campaign also included a guerilla marketing component: a photo booth installation offering attendees a creative way to obtain tickets. Each photo is stamped with a photographic chili ingredient, maintaining consistency with the rest of the visual identity.

Created in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma.
